Perhaps an easy way to see the general principle is to image a world with male and female height distributions exactly like our own except that there exists one woman who is 50 feet tall. In this case,

Prob(gender = female | observed height = 50) = 1.

Also, although I can see the resemblance, I’m not sure Cotner’s observation tracks Taleb’s issue as closely as first appears.
